Showers of Blessings

In my next post I will come back to the discussion we've been having about the relationship of Quakerism to Christianity. Right now, I'd just like to recommend a great Quaker blog I just saw for the first time today. By all means check it out:

Thanks for the good word, Rich. I am fascinated at how the blogging world works, how people find each other.

I don't really have a raison d'etre for Showers of Blessings, so it might not be quite be accurate in the long run to call it a Quaker blog; rather, it's a blog by a Quaker who, so far, has written on some Quaker topics, and probably will again. But not always -- tonight's post deals with my temporary deafness and the bliss of a Minnesota summer evening on the porch.

My eldest daughter lives in Brooklyn and I've visited your meeting twice while visiting her. I hope to be back in October and to perhaps meet you then.

Thanks, Paul.

I'd like to meet you when you're here, but when you come to see your daughter do you visit Brooklyn Meeting or 15th Street Meeting? Although I live in Brooklyn and call my blog "Brooklyn Quaker", my meeting is actually the 15th Street Meeting in Manhattan.

You could say I just haven't gotten around to transferring my membership since I moved to Brooklyn (in 1977)! The truth is that the way NYC's mass transit is set up it is just as easy for me to go to 15th Street in Manhattan as to 110 Schermerhorn in Brooklyn, so I've never felt the need to make the change. I think both are great meetings.

I plan to keep visiting your blog whatever its topics.

I've visited Morningside one year (when she lived in mid-town) and Brooklyn meeting the next. I want to visit 16th Street next time.

I'll be the white guy with the red beret.
